Gogogu coffee is named after the coffee washing station it comes from, in the village of Dida Haro Hada Raro in Guji, Ethiopia's Oromia region. A remote area accessible only by flight and a five-hour dirt road drive. Farmers deliver cherries to the local processing center by animal, facing challenges due to extended rainy seasons caused by climate change. Intercropping is practiced with various shade trees, and the fertile, sandy loam soil produces high-quality coffee without fertilizer. The Oromo people of Gogogu lead coffee-centered lives with limited access to amenities. Despite these challenges, they are recognized for their exceptional coffee quality and dedication.
